Paul joined the firm in 2002 after qualifying at a firm in Canterbury. He became a partner in 2005.
His particular areas of specialism within the firm are business consultancy and planning, accounting and auditing. He is a member of the Institute’s Audit & Assurance and Tax faculties.
Paul is married with three children and outside of work tries to play golf, run marathons and manage his son’s football team.
Ricky joined the firm in 2004 and qualified in 2008. He has been managing the Audit Department since 2012, and in 2017 became a Partner in the firm.
His main activity within the firm is auditing and accountancy, specialising in reporting for medium and large entities and groups. He also works with charities, small companies and partnerships. In addition to statutory reporting and auditing Ricky has a particular interest, and experience, in implementing and reviewing systems and providing information for management purposes. Ricky is also involved with recruiting and training new staff members.
Ricky is married and enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and the occasional box set on Netflix when the kids are asleep!
Dan joined the firm in 2006 when he was just 16. He went on to complete his exams and became fully qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2014. He then became tax manager and swiftly onto tax associate in 2017 and in 2019 he became Tax Partner.
Having grown up in all areas of tax, Dan has a wide knowledge of all aspects in relation to tax and is always available to answer all queries however small or large. His main activity in the firm is tax planning and advice for all types of client along with everyday compliance issues. Dan believes that completing work promptly and efficiently is key to a great business relationship.
In his spare time, Dan is a keen follower of Arsenal, although that is more stressful than work! He regularly goes to the gym and keeps active trying to play football.
Katherine joined the firm in 2005, after completing her degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She qualified in 2009 and completed her training at the firm before leaving to take up a senior position working in industry. Katherine re-joined Berringers in 2021 as Audit Manager, bringing her unique experience and expertise, before taking up position of partner in 2022.
Her day to day role incorporates looking after a diverse range of clients, including medium and large entities, as well as charities, partnerships and owner-managed businesses. Having also worked at HMRC prior to joining the firm, Katherine has experience of dealing with the Revenue, and advises clients on taxation matters. She uses her experience and expertise to provide the highest possible standard of service to all clients.
Katherine is married and when she is not running around after her two young children, she enjoys travelling, socialising with family and friends and the occasional trip to the gym!
John joined the firm in 1980 after training in the City and became a partner in 1986. Although a member of the Institute’s Audit and Information Technology faculties he uses his experience and knowledge across all areas of general practice to provide a wide spectrum of business advice to a diverse range of clients. He is also a member of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants.
John is married with lots of children and an ever increasing number of grandchildren. He is a keen follower of rugby and likes to appear on stage (in an amateur capacity) and occasionally on the golf course (if no-one else objects!).
Alice joined the firm in 2015, having previously worked at another firm in Chatham. She qualified in 2019 and has recently been made associate. Her main activity within the firm is accountancy and auditing, specialising in medium and large entities and groups as well as helping to train junior members of staff.
In her spare time, Alice enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as competing her horse and attending pilates classes to keep fit and the odd bit of baking to keep her husband happy.
Simon joined Berringers in 2010 and became ATT qualified in 2015. Simon now manages the Tax department, dealing with all things personal and corporate whilst managing his own wide variety of personal tax client portfolio.
Simon believes it is important that in an ever changing world of technology that the personable side of the relationship with our clients is not lost and is key attribute to the success of Berringers.
Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his family and has a keen interest in all sports.
Mandy joined the firm in 1981 and is one of the longest serving members of staff. She is the person to contact if you are unsure on whom to talk to, as she is known as ‘the oracle’ for her knowledge of the company and majority of clients, inside and out!
Her main activity within the firm is to manage the work allocation of all Limited companies, sole traders and partnerships accounts, dealing with client queries and to put them in contact with the member of staff assigned to the job. Also, she deals with all Company Secretarial matters.
Mandy is married and has two grown up children and enjoys spending time with her family and is very partial to TV box sets!
Dean joined Berringers in 2017 and heads up our bookkeeping department. Dean, as well as managing his department, is actively involved in the bookkeeping for a range of clients and carries out a key role in the accounting function for some of our larger bookkeeping clients. Dean’s background before he joined the firm included working in IT, an area which Dean still has an interest in, and has enabled him to specialise in advising and assisting our clients with regards to upgrading their accounting systems. Dean is Sage certified and works with all of the other major accounting software packages, including Xero, Quickbooks and BTC.
Dean is married with two dogs, and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing pool, and trying all the latest craft beers!
Terry joined the firm in 2001 after working over 10 years for a large bank in the City. Terry became Payroll Manager for Berringers in 2011 and has a Full membership of The Chartered Institute of payroll professionals (CIPP).
Terry has worked in payroll for over 35 years and has a wide knowledge of all aspects in relation to payroll. Terry is professional and has committed accuracy and care to ensure client satisfaction dealing with highly confidential matters in a timely manner.
Outside of work Terry has completed six Shine (nighttime walking marathons) for Cancer research.
Terry enjoys county walks, travelling and spending time with family and friends, with the occasional pub visit.
